Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Impulse ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service, including our mobile application, web application, and browser extension.

Description of Service

Impulse is a personal wellness application designed to help users track and manage digital distraction urges, build awareness of their habits, and develop healthier relationships with technology. The Service includes:

• Urge tracking and logging
• Statistics and pattern analysis
• Breathing exercises and mindfulness tools
• If-then planning for coping strategies
• Journaling features
• Progress tracking with streaks, XP, and achievements
• Browser extension for website interventions

User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age.

Free and Premium Services

Free Tier

Impulse offers a free tier that includes core features for urge tracking, basic statistics, breathing exercises, and the streak system. The free tier is available indefinitely at no cost.

Premium Subscription

Premium features are available through paid subscriptions. By subscribing to Premium, you agree to:

• Pay the applicable subscription fees as described at the time of purchase
• Automatic renewal at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period

Lifetime Access

Lifetime access grants permanent access to all Premium features available at the time of purchase, plus all future updates to those features. Lifetime access is non-refundable after 14 days from purchase.

Payments and Refunds

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your complete payment information.

• Prices are listed in USD and may vary by region
• You are responsible for any applicable taxes
• Monthly and annual subscriptions may be cancelled at any time
• Refunds for subscriptions are available within 7 days of initial purchase
• Lifetime purchases are refundable within 14 days of purchase

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on the rights of others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
• Collect or harvest user data without authorization
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our consent
• Create multiple accounts to abuse free features or promotions

User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create within the Service, including urge logs, journal entries, and if-then plans ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of your User Content and will not use it for any purpose other than providing the Service, unless you explicitly consent.

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by Impulse and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the software.

Disclaimer

Impulse is a self-help tool designed to support awareness and habit building. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IMPULSE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
• Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code that may be transmitted through the Service

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may do so by deleting your account through the app settings or by contacting us.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use the Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
